5 WAYS TO AMPLIFY YOUR BRAND'S AUTHORITY THROUGH PODCASTING | episode 54

Episode takeaways

The first step to building brand awareness is creating that know like and trust. and in order to do that, you need to connect with your audience in an authentic way. Today, I will show you how you can Amplify your Brand’s Authority with Podcasting.

Podcasting is a great tool to create brand awareness and build that know like  and trust. Let me show you some stats.

  • In 2022, 62% of the population 12+ has listened to a podcast and roughly 78% are familiar with the medium.

  • Over one-third (104 million) of Americans listen to podcasts regularly.

  • 43% of those age 35-54 are monthly podcast listeners.

  • 28% of Americans listen.. weekly .

While this is in the US, podcast listenership outside of the US is increasing, one of this is within the Spanish speaking population. Needless to say, there’s more to come when it comes to podcasting.

Let’s talk about  5 ways how you can use podcasting to build your authority and increase your brand awareness.

1. Niching Down (02:06)

Use it as an opportunity to expand on topics that relate to your niche. Go specific. The more niched down you can be the better because it will help you speak to that specific audience with those specific pain point problems.

2. Incentivize your audience (03:00)

Reward your audience with something that they can benefit from. If you’re a photographer, reward your audience by offering them a discount on a product you offer, or maybe offer them a gift when booking a particular service. This is an excellent strategy to drive up sales while also building a loyal audience. Word of advise though, you don’t want to sound sales-y all the time. Communicate from a place of authenticity, not just because you want to make a sale but because you really believe that what you are offering can help your audience.

3.Cross-Promotion by Getting Featured on Other Podcasts (04:22)

Getting featured as a guest on other podcasts is an excellent way to get the word out about your business and grow your own podcast audience.

To do this, be proactive in reaching out to other hosts. Share with them why you can be an asset to their podcast and audience, and share how you will be promoting their podcast with your audience.

4. Drive more traffic to your website (05:17)

Content repurposing is crucial, and a podcast is a mine of content. Maximize it by repurposing it into smaller bits of information throughout your various social media platforms, in addition to your own website. You can do this by creating a blog post with each episodes’ show notes, and then embedding the audio player and episode graphics into the post. This is great for SEO as it will keep your website updated with new content frequently.

A BONUS TIP: You can also pin your blogpost on Pinterest to increase your discoverability as Pinterest is actually a search engine.

5. Take your podcast into video (06:37)

I can’t tell you enough how important video is. It helps drive traffic, it helps with email marketing, it helps with sales, it helps build connections with your audience.

By posting your podcast on YOUTube, you are increasing your discoverability chances, because youtube is the 2nd largest search engine. The first one being google.
